Muğla deploys drones against illegal dumping of rubbish and rubble

After installing camera traps, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality's municipal police added drone patrols; 1,520 people have been fined 14.21 million TL so far.

Muğla Metropolitan Municipality's municipal police (zabıta) have started using drones to stop people dumping rubbish, rubble and excavation waste illegally across the province.

The drones complement seven camera traps already installed at hotspots. Since the camera-trap system and stricter inspections were introduced, 1,520 people have been fined a total of 14.21 million Turkish lira.

Offenders identified this way are also required to clean up the sites where they dumped waste.
