In Fethiye and across Muğla province, taxi fares are strictly regulated by the Muğla Metropolitan Transport Coordination Centre (UKOME). All yellow cabs are legally required to turn on the taximeter (taksimetre) at the start of every trip.
Official rates: Base fare (açılış): 150 ₺; Price per kilometre: 50 ₺; Minimum short-distance fare (indi-bindi): 250 ₺; Hourly waiting time: 250 ₺ (~4.17 ₺/min). There is NO night surcharge in Turkey — day and night rates are identical.
Throughout town, yellow call buttons on street poles summon cabs within 3–7 minutes. If a driver refuses the meter or overcharges, note the licence plate (48 T ...) and report to Muğla Zabıta via ALO 153 or UKOME at 444 48 01.
